World Bank to provide Moldova with additional financing worth 24.8 million euros

Chisinau, 14 October /MOLDPRES/ - The World Bank will provide Moldova with additional financing worth 24.8 million euros as loan, the goal of which is to implement the project on immunization against the COVID-19 infection nationally.
Today, the lawmakers approved, in the second reading, a draft law on the ratification of an agreement on financing between Moldova and the International Development Association (IDA) on the project, Emergency Response to COVID-19 – additional financing.
Under the document, the financial resources will be used for the purchasing of vaccines at the first stage of implementing the immunization of about a half of the residents. At the same time, the money will be invested in the systems of the refrigerating chain, development of information system in the health sector, as well as providing technical assistance meant for strengthening the capacities of the immunization process’ implementation.
The financing agreement with IDA on the implementation of the project, Emergency Response to COVID-19 – additional financing, was signed on 9 August 2021.
