Offshore secret to be cancelled under law in Moldova

Chisinau, 14 October /MOLDPRES/ - The MPs voted for the cancellation of the ‘’offshore secret’’ in the first reading today.
The document sees the amendment of the law on state registration of legal entities and private entrepreneurs. Thus, the Public Services Agency will be obliged to ensure the public visualizing of the information from the state register on the effective beneficiaries in the current resources and platforms of publication of open data on companies.
”Those who hide fiscal evasions, corruption, organized crimes, money launderings, raider attacks under the pretext of the ‘’offshore secret’’ must be known. The information about the founders, manages, beneficiaries of the companies registered in Moldova is information of public interest and any limiting of it is a violation of the citizens’ constitutional right,’’ one of the legislative initiative’s authors, Dumitru Alaiba, said.
Presently, over 500 companies regarded by the draft law are registered in Moldova.
