Over 7,000 people called for ambulance on weekend

Chisinau, 19 October /MOLDPRES/- On October 15-17, the Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Assistance Service registered 7,342 requests. 2,441 patients, including 464 children, were transported to the emergency departments of hospitals across the country.

According to the National Center for Prehospital Emergency Medical Care, respiratory emergencies were the most common reason for requests - 2,488, followed by cardiovascular - 1,160, including 18 patients with acute coronary syndrome and neurological emergencies - 815 requests, including 112 strokes cerebral.

Traumatic emergencies - 517 requests. Last weekend, 33 road accidents were registered, as a result of which 49 people with various traumas needed to be provided with emergency medical assistance.

At the same time, 14 requests were registered due to toxic emergencies. The medical teams provided first aid to six people who were intoxicated with drugs and to four who were intoxicated with alcohol.
