Several race buses in southern Moldova driving with fake chassis numbers

Chisinau, 20 October /MOLDPRES/- A fraudulent scheme in passenger transport has been uncovered by investigating officers. Thus, it was established that three coaches, belonging to different transport operators had a modified chassis number.

According to the police, the officers of the Complex Investigations Directorate of the National Investigation Inspectorate have carried out in the last three months, together with the employees of the Technical Forensic Center and Judicial Expertise of the General Inspectorate of Police, technical-scientific findings, following which it was established that three coaches belonging to different transport operators had the modified chassis number.

In this case, a criminal case was initiated for falsifying the identification elements of the vehicles. Persons guilty of such a crime risk a fine from 32,500 to 47,500 lei, unpaid community service from 180 to 240 hours, or imprisonment for up to 1 year.
