Chisinau, 20 October /MOLDPRES/ - Nine people, among whom one employee of the Public Services Agency (ASP), have got in the focus of the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA). They are suspected of having arranged a corruption scheme for the fraudulent issuance of driver’s licences.
According to CNA data, they would have manipulated the information system through which urgent schedulings were made and would have influenced the members of the examination commissions for the release of driver’s licences, contrary to the legal norms.
Those nine people were taking sums between 350 and 500 euros for each case for candidate’s urgent scheduling, as well as for the taking of the practical exams for getting driver’s licences.
A criminal file was opened on this case on passive corruption, influence peddling, influence buying, as well as active corruption. Today morning, CNA officers and anticorruption officers made searches at the homes of the suspects and raised documents from ASP.
If found guilty, those nine persons run the risk of being punished with 5-10 years of imprisonment.
