Moldovan president has phone conversation with European Commission president

Chisinau, 26 October /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today discussed by phone with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, the presidential press service has reported.

The subject of the discussion was focused on the issue of natural gas supply, faced by Moldova. On this occasion, the head of state thanked the European Union official for the support provided in the management of the crisis, as well as for the mobilization of EU’s experts for the settlement of this situation.

„The European Union has always been by the side of Moldova’s citizens, both in good and bad times. We are grateful for the support provided by the European Union in the management of the crisis of natural gas supply,’’ President Maia Sandu said following her phone conversation with Ursula von der Leyen.

Among other subjects tackled at the discussion, there is also the pace of implementation of the reforms by Moldova, as well as the support provided by the European Union, both in the management of the pandemic and in the economic improving.
