Dutch company to deliver one million cubic metres of gas to Moldova

Chisinau, 26 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Dutch company Vitol, one of the three world carriers of oil products, has won a tender launched by Energocom.    

According to the Public Property Agency, on 27 October, the Dutch company will supply one million cubic metres of natural gas to Moldova.  

On 25 October evening, the government informed that a contract had been signed for a test procurement of one million cubic metres of natural gas between the state company Energocom and the Polish company PGNiG. The acquisition tested the capacity of import of gas from alternative sources and balanced the low pressure in the natural gas supply system.

According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the cabinet is negotiating with Russia and the Gazprom giant for the signing of a long-term agreement on natural gas supply. Given the decrease of the pressure in the national distribution network, the procurement from alternative sources allows the maintaining of the delivery of natural gas to consumers.
