Chisinau, 27 October /MOLDPRES/- Falesti city hall has started public consultations on a draft decision on approving the Urban Revitalization Program for 2021-2026. Recommendations and opinions on the project can be submitted by 8 November.

The project aims to approve the Urban Revitalization Program of Falesti for 2021-2026, in order to improve the life of inhabitants by developing the Falesti Railway station area.

To identify the revitalization area, the Coordination Group for Urban Revitalization in Falesti jointly with representatives of the North Regional Development Agency (ADR) North and Solidarity Fund PL carried out observation visits in the Sugar Factory Area, Station Area and The Lower Area for the collection of qualitative indicators, discussion with the inhabitants of these neighborhoods and the formation of a vision about the situation in each degraded area.

"The social indicators collected for the years 2019-2020 show that the population of the Railway Station Area is growing, due to the accelerated construction of residential houses. The existing public spaces here, not yet arranged, can be used as places of social intersection, communication and leisure. Likewise, the area has the potential for economic development, having access to the infrastructure of the railway, its buildings and warehouses ”, according to the project to be submitted for debate.

In Moldova, the urban revitalization was initiated in 2017 by the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, with the support of the Ministry of Funds for Development and Regional Policy of Poland, in cooperation with Solidarity Fund PL in Chisinau.
