Moldovan parliament's reform agenda examined at meeting with representatives of Baltic parliaments

Chisinau, 27 October /MOLDPRES/- Speaker Igor Grosu met today with heads of the Foreign Affairs Committees of the Parliaments of the Baltic States. The discussion focused on the reform agenda of the Chisinau Legislature and government's priorities, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.
Grosu reiterated that the zero priority of the parliament is to ensure functional institutions, fight corruption and reform justice. "We intend to move forward very quickly and not allow ourselves to enter the comfort zone," he said.
The parliament's work is also aimed at combating propaganda and fake news. "Legislative initiatives have been developed, which will allow institutions to have effective tools to combat this phenomenon, because this is already related to the security of our country," he said.
The officials also discussed the energy crisis in our country. The speaker said that the solution to overcome this situation is to diversify the gas supply resources. In this regard, the authorities are taking prompt measures to ensure the energy security of the Republic of Moldova.
In this context, the representatives of the Parliaments of the Baltic States expressed their willingness to provide support and expertise in implementing the agenda of the Chisinau Legislature.
On October 26-31, the heads of the Foreign Affairs Committees of the Baltic Parliaments pay a visit to Moldova. The agenda also includes meetings with President Maia Sandu and Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița.
