Chisinau, 29 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Intelligence and Security Service (SIS) jointly with the Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Causes (PCCOCS) have documented an episode in a file opened against former employees of the Directorate 5 of the Interior Ministry’s (MAI) General Police Inspectorate (IGP), with the involvement of high-ranking employees of power wielding forces from the left bank of Dniester.

According to SIS, the former MAI employees with special status would have committed illegal actions as to a former leader of the so-called ‘’interior department’’ from the Transnistrian region, which occurred through the illegal shadowing (visual tracking) on the territory of Moldova, kidnapping and transmitting him to the unrecognized authorities from the left bank of Dniester.

"In this respect, during July 2018, special measures of investigation were illegally organized against a Moldova’s citizen, who was stopped in traffic by IGP employees nearby the Chisinau city on 27 July 2018 and with the participation of unidentified people, for the moment, was kidnapped and carried to Tiraspol. As a result, the victim of the illegal actions was placed in detention by the unconstitutional authorities from the Dniester Moldovan republic,’’ the SIS document reads.

Also, the people involved would have acted on the purpose and in the interests of individuals and structures who acted subversively and outside the constitutional  field of Moldova.

If the guilt of the persons involved is proved, they run the risk of being sentenced to 10-13 years of imprisonment.
