Chisinau city remains under red code of epidemiological alert

Chisinau, 29 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Extraordinary Public Health Commission of the Chisinau municipality today established that the city would be under the red code of epidemiological alert in continuation.  

The decision reads that the Chisinau city hall’s social assistance and health general department is obliged to update the plan on response and control of the health system from the city to the coronavirus infection and submit ways of strengthening the hospitalization capacities, in the conditions when the municipal health institutions have reached their full hospitalization capacity. Also, the Commission asks the Health Ministry to provide the municipal health institutions with antiviral preparations, according to the National Clinical Protocol of management of the COVID-19 infection.    

At the same time, the decision recommends the reaching, till 1 December, of a level of vaccination of 95 per cent for all staff in the first line of contact with citizens and the authorities from the public order sector are asked to monitor the observance by private people and legal entities of the provisions of municipal and national provisions for the prevention and control of the coronavirus pandemic.  

According to data by the Health Ministry, 334,287 cases of COVID-19 have been registered in Moldova so far and 311,818 patients have been treated.
