Over 3,000 drivers fined for infringing road traffic regulations in Moldova in last week-end

Chisinau, 1 November /MOLDPRES/ - Patrol officers in the last week-end carried out actions of detecting drivers who infringe the legislation. As many as 3,400 drivers were sanctioned in the wake of these actions.
According to data by the National Public Security Inspectorate (INSP), during the days off, law-enforcers reacted to 170 calls received at the 112 phone number. The non-observance of the road traffic rules by drivers triggered 13 traffic accidents, which resulted in a dead person and 19 injured ones.
At the same time, the INSP leadership reminds to drivers that, till 31 March 2022 inclusively, they were obliged to move with their lights turned on during the day.
Statistics data registered in the first nine months of 2021 shows that drunk drivers triggered 96 traffic accidents, in the wake of which 13 people died and 113 were injured.
