Chisinau, 2 November /MOLDPRS/- Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Viorel Gherciu together with State Secretary Iurie Scripnic and representatives of the Agency for Intervention and Payments for Agriculture and of the National Agency for Food Security, have recently monitored two investment projects in the livestock sector in Donduseni district and Soroca.
The ministry management started its working visit to an enterprise specialized in the production and sale of eggs and poultry meat from Târnova, Dondușeni district, which received support and advice from the state and European funds.
"The poultry company managed during 2014-2020 to make reasonable investments for the development of the sector. Thus, the entrepreneur purchased agricultural equipment, renovated the farm, purchased the equipment needed for the process of slaughtering birds, etc. The total investments exceed the amount of 15 million lei, of which 3.2 million lei is the state contribution in terms of subsidy policy ", said Viorel Gherciu.
Subsequently, officials paid a visit to Visoca, Soroca district, to a farm specializing in raising cattle for milk production. During the years 2015-2021, the livestock farm benefited from post-investment subsidies of 4.2 million lei and direct payments per animal in the amount of almost one million lei.
"It is gratifying that in the context of the economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the farmer is showing resilience and continuing his work, which is 60 percent based on the flow of subsidies. Thanks to investments from the state, the modernization, mechanization and automation of technological processes was favored. The subsidized investments were redirected to the technological renovation of the farm by purchasing equipment for feeding, milking and milk storage, as well as herd monitoring software ", Iurie Scripnic said.
