Moldovan-French relations to be strengthened in parliamentary sector, other important fields

Chisinau, 2 November /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu today met Ambassador of France to Moldova Graham Paul, who started his diplomatic mission in Moldova. The discussions were focused on possibilities of strengthening the Moldovan-French relations both in the parliamentary sphere and other important sectors, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
The speaker thanked for the support provided by France to Moldova in more sectors.
Special attention was paid to the assistance from which Moldova benefits through the French Development Agency (AFD) in carrying out sectoral reforms. ‘’The electric interconnection, irrigation systems, afforestation and water supply are among the priority fields for the country,’’ the parliament speaker said.
The speaker referred also to the foremost goals of the parliamentary majority, among which there is the justice reform and combating corruption, as well as the legislative actions undertaken to this end.
The officials spoke out for boosting the Moldovan-French cooperation, at the level of the parliament’s leadership and friendship groups.
Ambassador of France to Moldova Graham Paul presented the letters of accreditation to President Maia Sandu on 14 October.
