Chisinau, 3 November /MOLDPRES/ - A project on financial education titled, Generation I, meant to support people willing to learn how they can provide enough sources to live without financial constraints, has been launched by the National Bank of Moldova (BNM) at an international event.
The Generation I project, meant for people of any profession and age, was initiated and carried out successfully by the CFA Society Romania. The cooperation in the field of implementing the project was confirmed also through the signing of a partnership agreement between the National Bank of Moldova and CFA Romania.
„The National Bank in the last years was fully involved in a process of deep reforms of Moldova’s banking sector. These reforms gave our fellow countrymen new possibilities of interaction with the financial environment and modern services. All these arouse the consumers’ interest in being informed, learning more about the finances world. I.e. to learn, as well as to help other people discover useful things, in order to have a better quality of life,’’ BNM Governor Octavian Armasu said at the event.
For her part, the president of CFA Society Romania, Alexandra Smedoiu, said the project had been launched in Romania three years ago, for the need to improve the financial markets and the economy on the whole. ‘’A better world starts with us today, with us more educated from the financial viewpoint. The society’s goal is to contribute to the Romanian society, as well as to the Moldovan one, through bringing to the forefront the quality information, yet easy to understand and assimilate by all those interested in the financial markets and not only,’’ Alexandra Smedoiu noted.
Thus, the project extended in Moldova will help develop the society and create a solid financial culture. In this respect, BNM will encourage the correct informing and a responsible behavior, dealing with saving money, through the financial education.
The event titled, Financial education – a personal, social and economic benefit, brought together participants from Moldova, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary.
