Moldovan state institutions to longer be guarded by private companies

Chisinau, 3 November /MOLDPRES/ - The state institutions could no longer be guarded by private guard companies. The government today positively notified a draft, which sees providing of guard to the objects of strategic importance by only state enterprises. It is about the Guard Services state enterprise, founded by the Interior Ministry, state enterprise, Team of Paramilitary Guard and the state enterprise, Energy Shield, both founded by the Public Property Agency, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.   

Thus, the ministries, central administrative authorities subordinated to the government, autonomous public authorities, the public institutions founded by the government, state enterprises and the commercial companies with state capital will not be able to benefit from private guard. Also, the law courts, Prosecutor’s Office, the objects for the preservation and depositing of weapons and ammunitions, as well as the objects for preserving narcotic and psychotropic substances, except for the medical institutions and private drug stores, will be able to be guarded only by state enterprises.  

Therefore, the institutions will conclude contracts with one of the state enterprises, which provide guard services. The contracts are to be concluded through procedure of procurement, by ensuring of the principle of competition.   

The document is to be submitted to parliament for consideration and approval.
