Moldovan employees to receive two paid days off for each dose of anti-COVID-19 vaccination

Chisinau, 3 November /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers today voted a draft decision, which ensures the normative framework necessary to allow the compensation from the state budget of the employers’ expenses for the payment of allowances for technical unemployment, allowances for the days off given for taking care of children up to 12 years of age and children with disabilities, if the education process with physical presence is ceased. Besides, the wage earners will get two paid days off for each dose of vaccination against COVID-19 on the period of the emergency state in the public health sector, government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Thus, starting from November 2021, the aforementioned allowances will be requested through the single desk of electronic reporting by employers and will be paid by the National Social Insurances House (CNAS) in the case of the first two allowances and by the State Fiscal Service, in the case of the compensation of the salary costs for the days off given for vaccination.
Under the draft, a ceiling of 150 lei per day was established for the allowances provided to the employees in technical unemployment and allowances provided to the employees with children aged up to 12 years and disabled children, who benefit from days off in the case of the temporary suspension of the education process with physical presence. This accounts for 50 per cent of the average monthly gross salary per day for the second quarter of the 2021 year. The ceiling will be of 450 lei per day for the compensation as to the implementation of the special measures of ensuring the security, protecting the life and health of the residents in case of emergency state in the public health sector. This accounts for 150 per cent of the average monthly gross salary per day for the second quarter of the 2021 year, according to data reported by the National Statistics Bureau.
Financial means worth about 45 million lei are needed for the draft’s implementation in the last quarter of this year. The resources were provided for in the state budget.
