Moldovan president reconfirms Moldova's commitment in terms of climate action

Chisinau, 3 November /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu has conveyed a video message to the participants in the virtual high-level event of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), First line ambitions: we celebrate the champions for their climate action commitments. The event was held in the context of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26), the presidential press service has reported.
In her message, the head of state says that the climate changes represent one of the biggest challenges of the present time and Moldova committed to back the global effort of reducing the effects of the climate changes through cutting the greenhouse gas emissions by 70 per cent against the level of the 1990 year.
„We are prepared to act, in order to achieve a more ambitious figure; yet, to be able to get this result, we must work together,’’ President Maia Sandu said.
