Chisinau, 4 November /MOLDPRES/- The European Union has launched a call for projects to promote a sustainable blue economy through regional maritime cooperation in the Black Sea. The deadline for submitting applications is 12 January 2022.

In support of the implementation of the Common Maritime Agenda for the Black Sea - approved by Bulgaria, Georgia, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine - this call for proposals aims to stimulate innovation and digitalisation in the blue economy sectors. The selected projects will contribute to the implementation of the objectives of the European Green Deal, the Digital Agenda and the European Union Communication on the Sustainable Blue Economy.

In particular, the call will support the entrepreneurial environment of the blue economy by: strengthening the capacity of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), start-ups in the blue economy, to identify and take advantage of potential public or private investors; improving the visibility of investment opportunities in the Black Sea blue economy and the ability of public or private investors to identify SMEs and start-ups.
