Moldovan education ministry extends term of classes' recovery for additional vacation days

Chisinau, 4 November /MOLDPRES/ - Education and Research Minister Anatolie Topala has had a meeting with the heads of the local specialty bodies in the education sector. The participants in the event discussed ways of recovery of classes for the additional vacation days (1-5 November), proposed by the headmasters of the education institutions. The heads of the territorial competent structures informed about the difficulties faced by certain education institutions in terms of planning these classes during the current half of the year.
Following the discussions, the education and research minister issued an order, according to which the period of recovery of classes for the additional vacation days was extended till the end of the 2021-2022 school year.
The heads of the education institutions are in charge of organizing activities of classes’ recovery; they will work out a schedule for of recovery and will coordinate it with the district education sections.
Under the Decision of the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission from 26 October 2021, the Education and Research Ministry (MEC) ruled to prolong the autumn vacation by seven days for the pupils from the public and private elementary schools, gymnasiums and lyceums, in the administrative and territorial units of the first and second levels: Chisinau and Balti municipalities and the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia, in which the red code of alert in the health sector is established.
