Moldovan electoral body to ban organized transport at polling stations in 21 November elections

Chisinau, 16 November /MOLDPES/- Deputy head of Central Electoral Commission Pavel Postică said that the institution will ban the organized transportation of voters to the polling stations in the 15 localities where local elections are to take place next Sunday.

In a TV show, Postică said that the central electoral authority will issue a decision establishing responsibilities for the Ministry of Interior, the General Inspectorate of Police, the National Transport Agency to prevent violations in the electoral field.  "All passenger transport routes must have the appropriate documentation and it is not allowed to transport passengers illegally, regardless of destination," the official said.

On November 21, new local elections will be held in 15 localities of the Republic of Moldova, including Balti. According to the Central Electoral Commission, more than 130,600 citizens with the right to vote are expected at the polls.
