Thousands of places in Moldova checked on weekend by police

Chisinau, 16 November /MOLDPRES/- Over the weekend, measures to respond to the public health emergency were intensified, as well as reducing the risk of spreading COVID-19 infection. Thus, 5,346 places were checked, 576 violations were found.

According to the police, on 12 -14 November, more than 2,000 police officers from several districts of the country carried out extensive crime prevention, compliance with Covid-19 virus prevention and control measures, ensuring road safety, public order and safety.

During the Cascada operation, together with the employees of the General Inspectorate of Carabinieri, the Border Police and of the Customs Service, actions were carried out to monitor the spaces with increased flow of people and document in case of violations, checking gun owners, monitoring and prevention of the sale of spirits at 22: 00-08: 00, supervision of compliance with the established speed regime, as well as documentation of drivers who have committed derogations from the Road Traffic Regulations.

Following the checks, law enforcement officers found more than 1,000 violations.
