Chisinau, 16 November /MOLDPRES/- Anti-corruption prosecutors and officers of the Intelligence and Security Service raided this morning Balti Court of Appeal. They will investigate the service office and the means of transport belonging to a judge of the Court.
The raids take place after the interim General Prosecutor, Dumitru Robu, requested the agreement of the Superior Council of Magistracy to carry out the investigation of two judges.
According to prosecutors, the magistrate from Balti is being investigated for illicit enrichment. Thus, the anti-corruption prosecutors jointly with the SIS officers found the existence of reasonable suspicion that since 2014 the judge owned and used through third parties goods that were not included in the declaration of assets and personal interests and that exceed significantly the amount of funds officially acquired during the exercise of the office of judge. These goods include: 3 luxury cars, a house, and other real estate.
