First meeting of high level political dialogue with EU to be held in 2022

Chisinau, 16 November /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu met Stefano Sannino, Secretary General of the European External Action Service in Brussels on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting of the Eastern Partnership. 

According to MAEIE press office, Popescu reaffirmed the interest in deepening Moldovan-Community cooperation in foreign and security policy, which will be materialized by organizing next year first meeting of the high-level political and security Dialogue with the European Union.

"This platform will provide both sides with the opportunity to discuss the situation in the region, the challenges to regional security and stability, cooperation on the participation of Moldovan experts in EU-led crisis management missions. We have an increased interest in strengthening resilience and crisis management capacity with the support of European partners ", Popescu said.

The official outlined the foreign policy priorities and the internal reform agenda initiated by the government team.

At the same time, the meeting focused on current situation in settling the Transnistrian conflict. European official reconfirmed the European Union willingness to boost the political and security dialogue.
