Employees in medical system, front line to get third dose of vaccine

Chisinau, 17 November /MOLDPRES/- Medical workers, front-line employees, the elderly and people with comorbidities will receive the booster dose of the vaccine in the next period. The announcement was made today at a conference by the leadership of the Ministry of Health.

State Secretary Svetlana Nicolaescu said that the decision was taken by the authorities and there were reservations on transposition of the recommendations. "It is necessary that there be no ambiguity regarding the categories of beneficiaries of the third dose of vaccine, and in the immunization schemes," the official said.

So far, 1575,729 doses of vaccine have been administered in the Republic of Moldova, with two doses being immunized 906,967 people. The health authorities announce that to achieve the necessary immunity, more than 70 percent of the country's population must be vaccinated.
