Former director of Public Services Agency detained

Chisinau, 17 November /MOLDPRES/- Former director of the Public Services Agency has been detained for abuse and exceeding his duties, following morning searches.

According to PCCOCS data, the searches were carried out at the suspect's home. As a result, law enforcement officers have brought in information carriers, who are to be subjected to IT expertise, for the objective continuation of investigations.

"The criminal proceedings carried out come to strengthen the evidence accumulated by the investigating authority with reference to the crimes of which the extradition is suspected, related to abuse and exceeding the duties", a communiqué issued by the institution reads.

He facilitated the issuance of identity documents, identity cards and passports, on behalf of several persons in Vlad Plahotniuc's entourage, in clear violation of the established procedures, including in the absence of applicants for these documents.
