Chisinau, 17 November /MOLDPRES/- About 27% of Moldovan people has got vaccinated with the full scheme against COVID-19. The data were made public today by the leadership of the Ministry of Health.
State Secretary Svetlana Nicolaescu said that the highest immunization rate is in the capital, about 40%. Last week, 21,792 doses of vaccine were administered. She said authorities were concerned about the slow pace of vaccination.
Nicolaescu said that last week, the number of cases of infection with the new coronavirus decreased by 16%, with 6,861 cases registered. A large part of them were on the left bank of the Dniester and in the capital.
Currently 35 hospitals in the country admit COVID-19 patients.
At the same time, a high death rate remains in the Republic of Moldova, with 396 cases registered and reported in the last week. "Recently, a simplified case for declaring deaths has been approved. It must be submitted to the ANSP within 24 hours. In this way we will ensure a more transparent reporting ", the official said.
So far, 1575,729 doses of vaccine have been administered in the Republic of Moldova. The health authorities announce that to achieve the necessary immunity, over 70 percent of the country's population must be vaccinated.
