Moldovan, Russian officials broach cooperation

Chisinau, 17 November /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, as co-chair of the Moldovan-Russian intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation had a meeting with Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev, co-head of the Russian side of the commission, the MAEIE press service has reported.
"To boost trade and economic relations, we agreed to organize in the first quarter of 2022 a new meeting of the commission and a forum for business people. We paid special attention to facilitating exports of Moldovan products on Russian market ", Popescu said.
In this context, the Moldovan official stressed the importance of removing barriers and restrictions on mutual trade, such as import duties on certain categories of products.
Dmitry Patrushev voiced the Russian side's willingness to solve the existing problems in bilateral trade.
"We also opted for boosting the sectorial dialogue on relevant institutions in our countries. At the end of the discussion, we emphasized once again the openness we have for deepening the mutually beneficial economic relations with the Russian Federation ", the official said.
