"On this occasion, we addressed a number of topics of common interest on the agenda of Moldovan-Russian relations such as the recent signing of the contract for the supply of Russian natural gas to the Republic of Moldova, the elimination of barriers and restrictions on mutual trade such as import duties. of some product categories ", Nicu Popescu said.
A special topic in the discussion with the Russian official was the Transnistrian conflict, Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu reconfirmed our country's position on conducting the settlement process exclusively peacefully, respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova within internationally recognized borders.
"I stressed the need to withdraw Russian troops from the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova but also to evacuate and destroy ammunition from the military depot in Cobasna," he said.
Nicu Popescu paid a visit to Moscow on November 16-17. He had negotiations with several high-ranking Russian officials.
