Moldovan servicemen to participate in peacekeeping mission in Lebanon

Chisinau, 18 November /MOLDPRES/ - A contingent of 20 Moldovan servicemen will participate in the peacekeeping mission of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). The parliament approved a draft decision to this end today.
Under the decision, National Army military will take part, as part of the Italian military forces of UNIFIL, in missions of security and guard of military objects and patrol in the south-western part of Lebanon. As many as 177 servicemen from Serbia and 32 ones from Armenia participate in the Italian contingent too.
Moldovan military are to take part in this mission as of August 2022.
About 10,500 servicemen from 45 states participate in the UNIFIL mission.
