Moldovan state to provide compensations for invoices of gas, thermal energy

Chisinau, 18 November /MOLDPRES/ - The MPs today adopted, in the first reading, the draft law on the compensation of the expenses for the consumption of natural gas/thermal energy on the cold period of the year.

The draft sees a 67-per cent compensation for the first 50 cubic metres of gas consumed, while for the next 100 cubic metres, the compensation will be 50 per cent of the quantum of difference between the price from the invoicing month and the one from last October.

The maximal compensation provided for the consumption of gas will be 540 lei. Additionally, for the thermal energy, the lawmakers propose compensation of the difference of 67 per cent for the first Gcal consumed. The maximal compensation for the first Gcal will be 450 lei.

The beneficiaries of the compensation of the difference of expenses for the gas consumption are about 746,000 households. Another 222,000 consumers will benefit from compensation for the use of thermal energy.

Till October 2021, the tariff for the consumption of gas was 4.64 lei for one cubic metre; the tariff approved for November is of 11.8 lei. The difference following the tariff’s increase is 6.44 lei.
