Third attempt to elect leadership of People's Assembly failed in Comrat

Chisinau, 19 November /MOLDPRES/- Newly elected deputies of the People's Assembly of Gagauzia (APG) failed in today's meeting to elect speaker and governing bodies of the autonomy legislature and decided to return to the subject at the end of next week.
This is the third attempt to elect the failed APG head. In today's meeting, only one candidacy was submitted, that of Dmitry Constantinov, who, however, rejected the proposal and demanded that the meeting be postponed.
The deputies from Comrat decided that the next meeting should be organized at the end of the next week, on 26 November, according to gagauzinfo.md.
The People's Assembly of Gagauzia (Gagauziyanin Halk Toplușu) is the representative and legislative authority of the Autonomous Territorial Unit with special status Gagauz-Yeri, part of the Republic of Moldova. The APG is composed of 35 MPs, elected for a four-year term, in uninominal territorial constituencies, by universal, equal, direct, secret and free vote.
The last elections in the APG took place on September 19.
