Chisinau, 19 November /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today held a news conference on up-to-date subjects regarding Moldova and foreign affairs matters, the presidential press service has reported.
The president answered journalists’ questions on the developments in Moldova in the last months, with emphasis on three key components: domestic policy and everything implying this – social and economic problems, reforms underway, fight against the pandemic; situation in the justice sector and anticorruption; foreign policy and the relations with the strategic partners.
The head of state said that, within the limit of her powers, she had tried to contribute, along with the presidential team, to the promotion of the reforms in diverse sectors. In particular, it is about justice and fighting corruption.
„I believe that this is the most important task at the moment; yet, bedsides this, there is the care for the people’s incomes and everything which we can do for our economy to be able to develop in a much friendlier environment, including through the attraction of foreign investments. Only by increasing the citizens’ revenues, through well-paid jobs, only in this way we will be able to enhance the well-being of everybody and the well-being of the country, in general,’’ Maia Sandu said.
The Moldovan president gave assurances that she would continue promoting an active foreign policy, which is to contribute to the increase in the number of Moldova’s friends, as well as financial resources and of technical assistance for the country.
They are necessary both for backing the budget and for concrete investment projects, for infrastructure programmes nationally or programmes on community development locally.
