Moldovan president meets Turkish foreign affairs minister

Chisinau, 19 November /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu has had a meeting with Foreign Affairs Minister of Turkey, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, on a working visit to Chisinau.
According to the presidential press service, the subjects tackled by the two officials were focused on the strengthening of the bilateral cooperation, especially on the commercial, economic and investment dimension.
President Maia Sandu stressed the need to increase the quotas of export for some Moldovan products, as well as the necessity to extend the present Free Trade Agreement, in order to include the commerce with services. The sides also discussed aspects dealing with the ratification of the bilateral agreements with Turkey and namely the agreement on the recognition and conversion of the driver’s licences, agreement on the combined transport of goods and the one concerning the mutual promotion and protection of investments.
Turkey is an important economic partner of Moldova, ranking fourth as export destination for the goods made in Moldova.
