Six people detained for cigarette, alcohol smuggling

Chisinau, 22 November/ MOLDPRES / - Six men have been detained by law enforcement, following 20 searches, for several illicit activities, including smuggling 600,000 cigarettes and 4,000 liters of alcohol.

According to the PCCOCS, the activity of the members of the criminal group was documented for 3 months. According to the materials in the file, the six transported the cigarettes to specially arranged places, avoiding the border crossing points where the checks are more rigorous, due to the technical equipment.

Thus, following the searches at the homes, cars, garages of the extras, as well as at their stalls at the Central Agri-Food Market in Chisinau, the six were placed in pre-trial detention for 30 days.
