Emergency state in health sector, orange code of alert maintained in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 22 November /MOLDPRES/ - The emergency state in the public health sector, with the establishment of the orange code of alert, is maintained in Chisinau.
The capital’s city hall informs that the incidence of illnesses through the COVID-19 infection in the city is still high, as compared to other areas of Moldova, with the persistence of serious and quite serious cases, although a daily dynamic of decrease in the number of infections is recorded.
According to data by the social assistance and health general department, at the situation from 21 November, 676 people confirmed with COVID-19 were hospitalized in Chisinau, of whom 59 ones in extremely serious condition, 278 ones – in serious condition and 326 persons – in medium-serious state.
As many as 134,586 cases confirmed with COVID-19 have been registered in the area of the Chisinau municipality since the beginning of the pandemic, of which 132,031 cases were treated and 2,491were deaths.
At the same time, the municipal authorities informed that the vaccination rate in Chisinau city was of about 39 per cent of all residents and a higher indicator in this respect is recorded among the medical and teaching staff – 96 per cent and, respectively, 97 per cent. Also, a low rate of immunization is registered among the residents with ages between 18 and 29 years.
