Moldovan Presidency nominates candicacy for Audiovisual Council office member

Chisinau, 22 November /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today put forward the candidacy of Ruslan Mihalevschi for the office of member of the Audiovisual Council (CA) on behalf of the presidential institution.
According to the Presidency, the approach has been already submitted to the parliament’s commission for culture, education, research, youth, sport and mass media.
Ruslan Mihalevschi is editor-in-chief of the SP newspaper from Balti, where he has worked for 20 years. He also cooperated with the organizations from the journalism sector of Moldova as media expert.
Last week, the government submitted the candidacy of Liliana Vitu for the office of CA member.
The Audiovisual Council is made up of seven members, nominated for a six-year mandate: three ones are put up by the parliamentary factions, two candidates – by the civil society organizations, one – by the Presidency and one – by the Government.
On 11 November this year, the parliament dismissed the Audiovisual Council’s members, after it had rejected the institution’s activity report.
