Moldova's Superior Council of Prosecutors approves regulation on evaluation of prosecutor general

Chisinau, 22 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP) today approved, by majority vote, the Regulation on the procedure of evaluation of the performances of the prosecutor general.
Under the Regulation, the prosecutor general’s work will be assessed according to more criteria, among which: the quality of planning the activity of the Prosecutor’s Office; efficiency of the institutional control; efficiency of the risks’ management, internal and external communication.
Also today, CSP nominated a former prosecutor from the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) of Romania, Mariana Alexandru, in the commission for evaluating the performances of the prosecutor general. An international expert, Drago Kos, will work in the commission on behalf of the Moldovan Presidency and lawyer Angela Popil – on behalf of the Justice Ministry.
CSP initiated the procedure of verification as to Alexandr Stoianoglo, at a notification by President Maia Sandu. Five members are to be delegated to the evaluation commission: on behalf of the Presidency, of the Justice Ministry, of the Superior Council of Magistracy, of the Superior Council of Prosecutors and on behalf of the prosecutor general.
Alexandr Stoianoglo was detained on 5 October and was afterwards placed under preventive arrest.
