Moldovan president has meetings with leadership of Romanian government, parliament

Chisinau, 23 November /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu discussed with the leadership of Romania’s government and parliament in Bucharest today afternoon, the presidential press service has reported.
The head of state had a meeting with acting prime Minister Florin Citu, who was elected as President of the Romanian Senate today. President Maia Sandu thanked the official for the assistance received by Moldova for combating the pandemic this year. The officials discussed also the continuation of the projects of interest for the two countries.
In the end of the meeting at the government, Moldova and Romania signed the agreement on the mutual recognition of the diplomas, certificates and scientific titles – a document expected by graduates from Moldova.
At Romania’s parliament, President Maia Sandu had a meeting with new President of the Chamber of Deputies Marcel Ciolacu and Deputy President of Romania’s Senate Alina Gorghiu. The discussions reconfirmed the common commitment to further develop the special relation between Moldova and Romania, on all dimensions of cooperation.
In the end of the official visit paid to Bucharest today, President Maia Sandu discussed with the university lecturer, PhD in economics Florina Bran. The meeting took place at a request by President Maia Sandu, in order to hand Florina Bran the Order of the Republic, a distinction awarded to her husband, departed economist Paul Bran, for substantial contribution to the creation of the school of economic thinking in Moldova. Professor Paul Bran laid the foundations of the Academy of Economic Studies in Moldova (ASEM) and was the first rector of ASEM.
