Chisinau, 24 November / MOLDPRES / - A green justice for a protected environment and sustainable communities in the Republic of Moldova is the motto of an ecological project that was recently launched in our country. It will be implemented by the EcoContact Public Association, with the financial support of the Swedish Government, the main partner being the Ministry of Environment.

The project aims to improve the normative and institutional framework of environmental governance and justice in Moldova, by achieving a stronger involvement and cooperation of all key actors in environmental protection at national and local level.

"Currently, in the Republic of Moldova there is an environmental regulatory framework, which is largely outdated and conformed to the model of mentality that mankind had before, being more focused on the exploitation of natural resources. The fact that there is water or soil, there are forests, air, people have become accustomed to taking them as things we deserve, without asking whether these resources can not disappear in a day. Now there is a new vision, a different type of approach and there is a need to review this existing regulatory framework. It is necessary to take measures to eradicate the scourge of corruption, it is necessary to develop well-argued rules ", Minister of Environment Iuliana Cantaragiu said.

According to the authorities, the project Green justice for a protected environment and sustainable communities will be an essential aid for the transposition of European legislation in the context of the Republic of Moldova, or, the Ministry of Environment is in the process of evaluating policies and has identified the necessary adjusted.
