ASP to initiate new tender for purchase of safer document forms

Chisinau, 24 November / MOLDPRES /- The Public Services Agency (ASP) will initiate a new tender for the purchase of forms and equipment, necessary for several categories of documents issued by the institution. ASP director Mircea Eşanu made the statement today.

"At the end of this week, we will launch a new tender for the necessary blankets and equipment. The auction is for a three-year contract, for about three million document forms, half of which will be passports ", Eşanu said.

According to the official, the estimated cost of the acquisition is 430 million lei, but following the auction it could go down.

He said that the new equipment will allow the issuance of more secure documents for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, in accordance with the new international protection standards. At the same time, the quoted source estimated that the new documents could be cheaper for the holders. "We do not anticipate a decrease in the price for identity cards, but the cost of passports could be reduced by two hundred lei," said Eşanu.

At the same time, the director of the Public Services Agency insisted that the new tender will be absolutely objective, in accordance with all the necessary rules. "I would like to say that the new specifications will not have a hidden cost and I excluded the possibility for bidders to include Royalty costs", Mircea Eşanu said.
