Moldova's health sector, first-line medical employees to be vaccinated with third dose

Chisinau, 24 November /MOLDPRES/ - The first-line medical employees, the elderly people and the immune-deficient people and with comorbidities as of 29 November will be able to get the booster dose of vaccine. The Health Ministry’s leadership made statements to this effect at a news conference today.
State Secretary Svetlana Nicolaescu said that the booster dose would be administered at a time interval of at least six months for the people immunized with Pfizer and Moderna and after two months for the ones vaccinated with Janssen. ‘’In the case of the booster dose, schemes with the same vaccine, with which the first scheme was made is applied; yet, hybrid schemes are absolutely recommendable too,’’ the official noted.
Nicolaescu specified that both the people who were immunized abroad can get the booster dose in Moldova.
So far, 1, 594, 761 vaccine doses have been administered in Moldova and 918,857 people were immunized with two doses. The health authorities inform that, to achieve the immunity needed, over 70 per cent of the country’s citizens must be vaccinated.
