State budget for 2021 amended

Chisinau, Nov. 25 / MOLDPRES /- Parliament today made amendments to the 2021 state budget law.

State budget revenues were increased by 767.8 million lei - up to 45,862.4 billion lei, expenditures by 421.7 million lei - up to 57,654.3 billion lei.

The budget deficit decreased by 346.1 million lei and amounts to 11.792 billion lei or 5.1% of GDP.

The changes made to the sources of financing the state budget deficit include financial means for increasing the share capital of Energocom by 1.7 billion lei, in order to ensure measures to purchase natural gas to cover the deficit and for current consumption.

Minister of Finance Dumitru Budianschi said that the money is necessary to meet the conditions imposed by the Russian company Gazprom to Moldova-Gaz in order to avoid disconnection from the source of supply of Moldova with gas and supporting the ability to pay for consumption. At the same time, the change is made to strengthen the situation at Termoelectrica company, which is also part of the energy complex and contributes significantly to maintaining the country's energy security.
