Electoral observers to be able to monitor local polls' runoff in Moldova

Chisinau, 26 November /MOLDPRES/ - The observers accredited at the first round of the new local elections have right to carry out their activity at the runoff election too.

The national electoral authority informed that the observers accredited in the first round of the polls would not have to register again at the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) to monitor the electoral process.

At the same time, CEC said that other observers can be accredited as well and the deadline for submitting applications for accreditation expires on 27 November.

The mayors were elected only in nine out of the 15 settlements were new local elections were held on 21 November 2021. The runoff election will be held in another six settlements, among which the Balti municipality too, on 5 December.
