Six people die in traffic accident in south-eastern Moldova district

Chisinau, 27 November /MOLDPRES/ - Rescuers of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) today morning intervened to carry out works of extrication in the wake of a serious traffic accident, which occurred in the Popeasca village, south-eastern Stefan Voda district.

According to IGSU, the call to the 112 Service was received at 06:56. More people remained blocked in the wake of an accident between a truck and a vehicle. A team of rescuers intervened on site to carry out extrication works.

The IGSU employees said that the truck, when making the maneuver of outrunning a tractor, got on the opposite side of the road and collided with a Chrysler vehicle, in which six persons remained blocked. Rescuers urgently carried out de-blocking works and extricated six dead people from the car. There were two persons in the damaged vehicle. The truck’s driver did not suffer, while the passenger was injured and carried to hospital for medical care.

Law-enforcers are to establish the reason for the accident and its circumstances.
