European Parliament to further help Moldova implement European agenda assumed

Chisinau, 29 November /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu today met First Vice-President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola. The meeting took place on the sidelines of a working visit to Brussels paid by Igor Grosu, the parliament’s communication and public relations general department has reported.    

Igor Grosu wished Roberta Metsola success in the race at the elections for the European Parliament president, for which she ruled to run.  

The parliament speaker reiterated the importance of the close cooperation with the European Parliament for the implementation of the Moldova-European Union Association Agreement and ensuring an irreversible process of the country’s democratization. In this respect, the officials agreed on turning to good account the entire potential of the cooperation.  

The speaker stressed that the European Union had proved innumerable times willingness to back us in overcoming the difficulties through assistance and expertise, for which Moldova is grateful to EU.   

Roberta Metsola gave assurances that the European Parliament would help Moldova in continuation to successfully implement the European agenda assumed. ‘’We are determined to prove that the laws and reforms adopted are for the benefit of the citizens,’’ the parliament speaker noted.   

In the end of the meeting, Igor Grosu made an invitation to the First Vice-President of the European Parliament to pay an official visit to Chisinau.
