Chisinau, 29 November /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today attended the official inauguration of the works of modernization and extension of the water supply network of the northern Edinet city, a project financed from European funds, the presidential press service has reported.
The modernized network will bring quality drinking water to the dwellings, schools, kindergartens, hospitals and institutions from Edinet. Thus, over 18,000 residents from north Moldova will have good running water due to this project.
President Maia Sandu thanked the European Union and Germany for the financial support provided for the projects from Edinet, as well as for many other settlements of the country. Along with EU Ambassador to Moldova Janis Mazeiks and with representatives of the German Agency for International Cooperation, which implements the project, the head of state visited the construction site, where the works on renovation of the water supply network had started and discussed with workers.
Maia Sandu said that such development projects must be carried out in all Moldova’s regions and the governance would continue identifying and turning to good account resources for investments in infrastructure.
„The good living conditions in villages and towns, along with the well-paid jobs, represent our chance for the people to remain at home and contribute to the flourishing of the communities and our country,’’ President Maia Sandu said on the occasion of the visit paid to Edinet today.
