Law providing for compensations for gas consumption published in Official Journal of Moldova

Chisinau, Nov. 30 / MOLDPRES /- The promulgation decree and the Law on compensating the price difference for the consumption of gas / thermal energy in the cold period of the year were published today in the Official Journal and entered into force.

According to the document, household consumers will benefit from the compensation of expenses for the consumption of natural gas and thermal energy, as a result of the increase of tariffs for these utilities. Thus, compensations will be offered in proportion of 67%, for the first 50 m3 of natural gas consumed, and for the next 100 m3 - compensation with 50% of the amount of the difference between the price in the billing month and the price in October 2021.

The difference of 67 percent for the first gigacalorie consumed will also be compensated. Compensation will also benefit citizens who are supplied with thermal energy produced by the boiler room of the apartment building.

Thus, the maximum compensation offered for natural gas consumption will be 540 lei, and the compensation for the first gigacalorie consumed will be 450 lei.

According to the document, the calculation of the compensation of the price difference following the increase of regulated prices for natural gas supply in the context of the public service obligation or regulated tariffs for thermal energy is performed for gas / thermal energy consumption starting with November 1, 2021.
