At an annual scientific conference of the Agency for Military Science and Memory entitled Current issues of national security and defense, historiography and military memory, Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatii said that the development of military science and history is becoming an important part of the organization. national defense, a desideratum that will allow us to develop viable, efficient concepts, really contributing to the consolidation of security and the defense segment.

In this context, Anatolie Nosatîi noted that the Ministry of Defense will support the development and consolidation of the national system of scientific research in the field of security and defense, military history, which are to be correlated with the development needs of security and defense structures. "As a minister, I believe that supporting scientific research in the field and identifying measures to promote the scientific researcher as a representative of the defense institution, will strengthen the mechanisms for developing and implementing state policies, scientific research in national security and defense and of military history ", mentioned the head of the national military department.

According to deputy head of the Agency for Military Science and Memory, Dr. Vitalie Ciobanu, in the first year of activity of the structure, the institution's researchers were trained in elaborating numerous studies and researches on a thematic area focused on the complex realities of military history, security and defense. related activities, the organization of national and international seminars and meetings, including under the auspices of the Agency and academic institutions in the country and abroad.

Vitalie Ciobanu also said that during the current year, 8 scientific papers were elaborated, out of which 5 saw the light of day, and another 2 are in the process of editing. The Agency's employees have published 42 scientific materials and articles, and another 19 materials, mainly on military topics, are submitted for publication, the institution's researchers have participated in over 20 national and international conferences, etc.

Referring to the future activity of the Agency, the director of the institution, Dr. Ion Coropcean, mentioned that the Agency will be actively involved in the process of updating security and defense policy documents, to be launched by the Ministry of Defense, in especially those aimed at the National Defense Strategy (SNA) and the Military Strategy, documents that outline the strategic objectives of transforming (restructuring, developing and modernizing) the military structure into the integral complex of ensuring national defense and security.

The Agency for Military Science and Memory was created by a Decision of the Government of the Republic of Moldova in December 2020 and has the mission to develop and ensure the implementation of state policy in the field of military science, scientific research on security and defense, memory and military history, as well as to ensure compliance with the regime of graves and war memorials.
