Chisinau, 30 November /MOLDPRES/- The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of the Republic of Moldova in partnership with the Program of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) Structural Reforms in Moldova, today launched a new digital service for the business environment - Electronic Certificate of Origin - eCO. It is part of CCI's new digital services platform www.client.chamber.md.
This online service of the Chamber comes to facilitate international trade procedures for exporters, who will benefit from a simpler and faster method of confirming the origin of exported products.
The module of electronic certificates of origin, developed on the platform www.client.chamber.md, allows the submission of applications and the receipt of the electronic certificate at a distance. At the same time, the platform provides for the verification of the validity of the online certificate through modern technologies, which ensures an increased security of documents in external economic transactions.
"We give up the certificate - a form of strict evidence in favor of a digital document with a much higher level of security. Thus, the new platform provides for the verification of the validity of the certificate online, through modern technologies, which ensures the security of documents in external economic transactions. The certificate of origin will only be issued in electronic format. In order to stimulate and encourage entrepreneurs to submit applications online, from next year CCI will apply preferential rates for those who will use the platform www.client.chamber.md ", Chamber of Commerce and Industry head Sergiu Harea said.
Director of the USAID Structural Reform Program in Moldova Milo Stevanovich stressed that through this event, the Republic of Moldova joins 27 other countries around the world that have electronic systems for issuing non-preferential certificates of origin. "Made in Moldova" becomes a well-known and valuable brand. The new Electronic Certificate comes with simpler procedures for requesting, obtaining, presenting at the border and verifying by the authorities. Automation brings a real change, given the number of about 13,000 Certificates issued annually, "said Milo Stevanovich.
During the event, the procedure for issuing the non-preferential certificate of origin in electronic format was presented, and the USAID Program sent to the CCI equipment intended for the management of the digital services of the chamber institution. The Electronic Certificate of Origin will be gradually implemented in order to give the economic agents the possibility to adapt to the new electronic product.
